Extremely dark cherry red, nearly inky. Aromas of tanned leather paired with ripe blackberries, licorice and wet soil. On the palate fruity and creamy. At the end of the very long finish traces of crème de cassis. Incredibly good.
Mr J - a very good friend and one of the heroes in my blog - offered me this bottle for a bargain price. I was not really convinced. Wines from Spain do not belong to my favorites. But this one was absolutely stunning. Together with a friend of mine we checked out for a nice bottle for a blu-ray evening. What shall I say? When the movie was finished the bottle was emptied. Glorious.
The wine is - of course - on the top, but I believe it can hold the quality for another two years. Food pairing? Heavy tapas. What else!
