Medium to deep dark cherry red. Some light rims. Chocolate aromas are dominating. Truffles, chocolate cake with some spices. In German we say "Gewuerzkuchen". But not the sweet Christmas Cake variant with dry fruits. More the puristic version - only the spiced cake perhaps with a thin dark chocolate icing. In addition, far behind the different chocolate aromas hints of juniper wood smoked bacon can be found.
On the palate the spices come out on the top. Due to the youthness of the wine still a little bit aggressive with a hint of bitterness in the long finish. Of couse very good, but perhaps a little bit overambitious. However the wine is just at the beginning. Wait for another two years and then we will see. The potential is there.
In the current condition I would pair it with a hearty stew.
